Rachel Campbell

Rachel Campbell is qualified under both English and French law and is admitted to the Geneva Bar as an EU practicing lawyer. With over two decades of experience, she advises on complex cross-border transactions across the energy, natural resources, infrastructure, and finance sectors.

She regularly acts for banks, trading houses, project sponsors, and developers in matters involving trade and commodity finance, oil and gas, mining, ECA-backed financings, and renewable energy projects. Rachel is particularly recognized for her deep expertise in emerging markets, especially in Africa.

Her career spans leading international law firms in London, Amsterdam, and Paris, complemented by a secondment to the energy, commodities, and projects legal team of a major French bank between 2008 and 2009.

Rachel holds an MBA from ESSEC, a Bachelor of Laws and French from Trinity College Dublin, and a Master’s in Business Law from Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne.

  • Advising a largetrader as lender in relation to the secured financing and restructuring of a Zambian copper mine and complex sub-participation arrangements a subsidiary of a company using AI to carry out metals exploration activities, and the subsequent refinancing following the sale by an Australian sponsor to a Chinese purchaser and related commercial contract arrangements.

  • Advising a large trader in relation to a USD multimillion revolving credit facility granted by several African banks to finance eligible prepayments in several jurisdictions for copper and cobalt secured, inter alia by security in DRC and Zambia.
