Milène Cardoso Coelho

Milène Cardoso Coelho has been a trainee lawyer at SMBC since February 2025.

Before beginning her traineeship, she obtained a first Bachelor’s degree in International Relations from the University of Geneva, before pursuing her legal education. She subsequently earned a Bachelor’s degree in Swiss Law and a Master’s degree in Civil and Criminal Law. Throughout her studies, she attended various courses, including Property Law, Juvenile Criminal Law, International Mutual Assistance in Criminal Matters, Estate Planning and Sanctions Law, which strengthened her strong interest in both civil and criminal law.

She also holds the Certificate in Transnational Law (CTL), which enabled her to gain a deep understanding of the interactions between national and international legal systems and to broaden her perspective on global legal issues.

Alongside her studies, she was actively involved in university life as a member of the Amnesty International group at the University of Geneva. In this role, she contributed to organizing conferences addressing issues related to the protection and promotion of human rights, reflecting her commitment to justice and the defense of fundamental rights.

She subsequently earned her Certificate of Specialization in Legal Practice before commencing her traineeship, a crucial step that reinforces her legal expertise and prepares her for practicing law and obtaining her attorney’s license.
